The Atlantic Slave Trade was the result of, among otherwise things, labor shortage, itself in turn created by the desire of European colonists to exploit New World arena and resources for capital profits. Native peoples were at first utilized as slave labor by Europeans, until a large form died from overwork and Old World diseases.
