For students, the question is not whether science and the scientific method be useful in companionship, which they obviously are, yet the question is whether we lead actually use it. Granted, those who pursue careers in the medical field, in programming, in research or in designing and building equipment will use science, but will the rest of us? We can think of science as something that is always fag oute by someone else, and we are glad that it is done, but we dont want to do it ourselves. We are grateful for the technology that makes our modern conveniences possible, but we dont dislodge ourselves emergencying to know how everything works or how to turn the next hot product. We are disconnected with the pure scientist, who, dictated by curiosity alone, aims to make sense of the most con things. It just seems to be no fun. When thinking approximately a future for our lives, very few of us daydream about studying the effect of different enzymes on the function of a protists flagellum. Many of us want to substantiate careers in fashion or sports or as phone line people, instead of becoming a physicist or a chemist. So why study science if it is not something we see in our future?
We grow up in a society that has an incredible amount of knowledge at its fingertips.



We can find answers for many questions on the internet, and we feel we need to look no further. The nagging questions we have that are more broad and religious in nature have answers in religious texts, in older and wiser members of our families, or in books written by experts. What is the need for science in society? The answer is that science, in essence, is skeptical. It questions facts we are fed, and looks for data to support those facts.
