Mulatto

In my opinion Langston Hughes raises a significant issue in his poem of 1927 Mulatto. The issue is rape of African American wenches and lives of quite a little who are not accepted by neither clean-living nor disgraceful population of the southboundwestward because they waste blood of both. The act tells us that the poem is about someone who is born by an African American buckle down and a white slave owner. People of the south call them bastards because they are born orthogonal the marriage. In my rationality Hughes uses words dusk and southern dark to represent dark population and word turpentine woods as a symbol of white population. Air refers to mulattos as well as yellow stars and the word scent refers to the white blood that mulattos have in their veins. Therefore, we can interpret such lines like aggressively pine scent in the evening air as appearance of mulatto shows that they have white blood.



Line Southern night is full of stars, great big yellow stars can be interpreted as there are many mulattos among blacks of the south and a possible suggestion is that the rape happened very lots and that is why there are many yellow stars.
He also shows that mulattos do not want to be interpreted for African Americans and lines Niggers aint my brother. Not ever. show the locating of mulattos toward African American. This happens because some of they are still treated let on by whites and being African American in the south means to have the lowest position in the society.
