Talent management has acquired increasing importance in todays competitive corporate world. Companies today argon looking to retain and acquire best talent in whichever charge possible. Unlike in the past, employees are not considered as a burden,but rather as assets.
Recruitment is that arm of HR that deals with engenderting mess into the company to fill vacant posts. in that location are various sources of recruitment viz, campus placements,poaching,consultancies,trade associations,adverstisements,among many others. One among these is the rule of employee referral.
Employee referral refers to the process where existing employees refer their relatives or friends for vacancies to be modify in the organization. It is a convenient way to recruit people and saves time and cost. The advantages of this system include a better employee-job fit, lesser cost,time saving, reliability on employee. The disadvantages include nepotism, bad and improper referrals, etcetera
Employee referral programs are structured in different ways crossways different industries. In this project we have chosen the financial sector as the industry for our study. We have tried to substantiate the working of referral programs in this sector, how they are implemented, and what are the various pros and cons of this point procedure.
The objective of our study is trio fold-
1.
To understand how the referral process kit and caboodle across different sectors
2.To understand the pros and cons of hiring through the referral method
3.To understand the challenges face by HR in the referral method
In the melodic line of our project, we have tried our level best to cover these three aspects to the fullest.
The research methodology included the use of primary and indirect data both. Primary data was by way of telephonic interviews, while secondary data collected was by way of textbooks,newspapers and Internet.
