Abstract
Enzyme inhibition is important because it helps cure sickness by injecting the localise inhabitant.
PTU was experimented to discover what type of inhibitor it is to Catechol OxidaseĆ (Potato deplume) by seeing if there is a color mixed bag when the two interact. Results show that PTU was not a warring inhibitor, saying that it did not bind to the Potato Extract (Catechol Oxidase.
Introduction
Enzyme inhibition is important in life because many medications ascertain enzyme inhibitors, some being competitive inhibitors and other noncompetitive. Competitive centre it would bind to the active set therefore blocking it lessen enzyme activity, noncompetitive being that it would just simply bind elsewhere and or change the shape of the enzyme causing no feedback. For type if you take too methanol then you will be given ethanol which is a competitive inhibitor of methanol. This way they would two be competing for the active site, thus blocking the active site from the methanol. As for this lab PTU (phenylthiourea) was tested and will find prohibited at the end of the experiment if it would be a competitive or not competitive inhibitor to Catechol Oxidase (Potato Extract). Will the PTU affect the Catechol Oxidase (Potato Extract) and change colors if the liquids are together. I believe that PTU will not bind to the Potato Extract and affect the color, causing PTU to be an uncompetitive inhibitor.
