Scott Ashbridge The Most Influential Person in My Life The most powerful person in my life has been my grandpa, my abuelo. He just turn 88 years old and no one believes it. He looks and acts so much younger than his years. My grandpa was born in Ecuador in 1922. He has seen many changes and adapted to all of them with ease. He was born in a little town called Manta. He left school at the age of 7 to encourage my great-grandfather in the fields. In between harvest he intimate to read and write. At the age of 16 he enlisted in the Ecuadorian navy blue, where he eventually was sent to Chicago, where he erudite English, that helped him out eventually. In 1968 he was already married and a father of 4, the oldest 8 and the youngest 2, thats when he decided to emigrate to the unify States, alone, he settled in Brooklyn New York. In the Navy he has gotten his degree as a nurses assistant, plainly when he arrived in the US, like so many immigrants ahead him, he took a manual job, washing dishes at the Hilton Hotel. In 1969 he had saved enough money to bring my grandmother, uncles and my mummy over.

Once his family was settled in he went to Brooklyn College for one year to refresh his English and applied at Lutheran medical examination Center as an orderly and was offered a job inside the week.
