What people seem to forget about is the person that those colors represent. A great, hardworking man by the name of John Deere. John Deere was born on February 7, 1804 in Rutland, Vermont. As a teenage boy, Deere was always interested in the blacksmiths in this neighborhood. In 1821, Deere was bound to Captain Benjamin Lawrence and entered into the blacksmithing trade for himself in 1825. Deere marries Demarius Lamb in 1827 and fathers nine children. In 1843, Deere partnered with Leonard Andrus to produce more plows to keep up with the growing study for his plows. However, this partnership was strained due to the stubbornness of each man. Deere wished to allot to customers outside of Grand Detour. Andrus strongly opposed against a proposed coerce though Grad Detour. Deere also distrusted Andrus accounting practices also. In 1848, Deere dissolve the partnership and moved his company to Moline, Illinois.
